WordStage Literary Concerts opens its Fall series of performances on Saturday, September 23rd   at 7: 00 p.m. in the Wright Chapel of the Lakewood Presbyterian Church, 14502 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood, OH with a literary celebration of four core members of the infamous Algonquin Hotel Round Table from 1919 to 1929.
Join Dorothy Parker, Alexander Woollcott, Edna Ferber and Robert Benchley as they trade witty barbs, share scintillating conversation and challenge each other via a public reading of their individual short stories as they while away a rainy afternoon at their favorite rendezvous, Manhattan’s famous and storied Algonquin Hotel Dining Room.  Their razor-sharp wits, and clever literary creations will be enhanced by solo piano works of George Gershwin, a favorite guest artist at the “Algonks” gatherings.
The cast features Agnes Herrmann as Dorothy Parker, Paul Slimak as Robert Benchley, Leslie Stager as Edna Ferber and Tim Tavcar as Alexander Woollcott.  The program will be enhanced by a selection of piano compositions by George Gershwinplayed by Micheal Limoli.
