Los Angeles-based film/TV director and Lorain native JOHN BAUMGARTNER -- JohnBaumgartner.com — returns for the holidays and will teach a 4 week SCENE STUDY CLASS for a small group of professional or aspiring theater and film actors.  Baumgartner’s work includes the critically-acclaimed feature “Hard Pill,” which The Plain Dealer graded “A,” and which was acquired by the Weinstein company; as well as work for Funny or Die and MTV's Logo Network. 

Through hands-on scene work in a fun, relaxed, and encouraging atmosphere, techniques covered include On-Set Etiquette and Procedure; determining a scene's Emotional Event; defining Before and After; Animating Subtext through strong Back Stories & Objectives; discovering Organic Blocking; utilizing Opposites; Dynamic Choices for Auditions; Loving the Process as much as the Result; and more.  $25 per class session, limited class space by design.
