*Not everyone will be called every day until 2 weeks before opening.
*There will be a readthrough on April 14 and rehearsals will begin in full April 22.

No appointment necessary. Those auditioning for Fairies please be prepared to stay until 7:30. Those auditioning for all other roles please be prepared to stay until 8:30/9:00.

PLEASE BRING A LIST OF ALL CONFLICTS FOR REHEARSAL DATES (see above).
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS FOR FAIRY ROLES:
Please be prepared to introduce yourself and sing a short song (any genre, not longer than 1 minute) acapella. (Fairies will have a song in the show.) You will also be asked to read lines from Midsummer Act 2 Scene 1 if you’d like a chance to look over that at home first!
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL OTHER ROLES:
Please be prepared to introduce yourself and perform a Shakespeare monologue of your choosing. Monologues should be memorized and no longer than 2 minutes. You will also be asked to read from the script.

A mischievous fairy who delights in playing pranks on mortals. Must be outgoing, sly, and move well
NICK BOTTOM: male, ages 14-21
Overconfident, full of advice and self confidence but is rarely right, foolish, arrogant. Comedic.
OBERON: male, ages 14-21
The King of the Fairies. Vengeful, poetic.
TITANIA: female, ages 14-21
The Queen of the Fairies. Stubborn, poetic.
HELENA: female, ages 14-21
Young woman of Athens. Lovesick, rejected, self-pitying. Tends to over-exaggerate. Must be taller than Hermia.
HERMIA: female, ages 14-21
Young woman of Athens. Strong-willed, independent, resolved. Must be shorter than Helena.
DEMETRIUS: male, ages 14-21
Young nobleman of Athens. In love with Hermia, who has no interest in him, but is resolved to marry her.
LYSANDER: male, ages 14-21
Young nobleman of Athens. Believer in true love. Persuades Hermia to elope with him.
THESEUS: male, ages 14-21
Duke of Athens. Exudes confidence, authority, and power. Believes himself to be the cousin of Hercules.
HIPPOLYTA: female, ages 14-21
Queen of the Amazons, soon to be Duchess of Athens. Strong, unfailing.
EGEUS: male, ages 14-21
Respected nobleman. So upset with his daughter Hermia’s choice to marry Lysander that he asks the Duke for the death penalty for her if she goes through with it. Also will play the role of Philostrate.
PETER QUINCE: male or female, ages 14-21
Carpenter and leader of the Mechanicals (craftsmen). Director of the play Pyramus and Thisbe to help celebrate the wedding of the Duke. Comedic.
FRANCIS FLUTE: male, ages 14-21
Bellows-mender, bearded, forced to be play the young girl in Pyramus and Thisbe. Speaks his Thisbe lines in a high, squeaky voice. Comedic.
ROBIN STARVELING: male or female, ages 14-21
Tailor. Plays the role of Moonshine in Pyramus and Thisbe. Comedic.
TOM SNOUT: male or female, ages 14-21
Tinker. Plays the role of the Wall in Pyramus and Thisbe. Comedic.
SNUG: male or female, ages 14-21
Joiner. Plays the role of the Lion in Pyramus and Thisbe. Anxious, comedic

We are proud to be partnering with Berkshire High School for Curtain 440’s 2019 summer theater camps! All rehearsals and performances will be held at Berkshire HIgh School on their stage at 14510 N. Cheshire Street in Burton. Burton is centrally located in Geauga County—only 12 minutes from Chardon; 9 minutes from Newbury and Munson; 15 minutes from Chesterland and Hamden; and 10 minutes from Middlefield!
FROZEN JR.
Come be a part of one of the first productions of Frozen Jr. in the area! In this story of true love between sisters Anna and Elsa, Frozen Jr. features all of the songs from the beloved movie, as well as 5 new ones from the current Broadway production. With a large cast of memorable characters, it’s sure to be a summer to remember! All registered students will receive a role and participate in set, costume, and prop design, as well as play theater games and make new friends—and belt out “Let It Go” all summer!

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST JR.
This beloved Disney classic about transformation and tolerance comes to life! The Beast must learn to love and be loved in return, and Belle shows up just in time. Beauty and the Beast Jr. has all the songs from the classic movie and several from the original Broadway production. A large cast of fun and supporting characters make this tale as old as time a joy to perform. All registered students will receive a role and participate in set, costume, and prop design, as well as play theater games and make new friends.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Angela Miloro-Hansen is the founder of Curtain 440 and has been active in theater community for 20 years through acting, directing, stage managing, se, prop, costume design, and more. She has been directing youth programs since 2005 and mainstage teen and adult productions since 2011. Her work with students has been recognized by the Ohio Community Theater Association as “outstanding.” Some of her favorite directing credits include School of Rock; Peter and the Starcatcher; In The Heights; Beauty and the Beast; and The Neverending Story. Angela also runs the Repertory 440 Company, comprised of students who travel to different schools and perform shows throughout the school year. She is also the author of The Star on My Heart, a play about Holocaust survivor Inge Auerbacher, which premiered in 2015 and has since been performed throughout Northeast Ohio and several other states including New York, Indiana, and Iowa.
