Education Coordinator

 

The Education Coordinator will report to Great Lakes Light Opera’s Executive Director. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·         Coordinating logistics for programming including but not limited to space, A/V capabilities, and piano

·         Maintaining the educational calendar of all Great Lakes Light Opera educational ventures

·         Managing the Opera Avengers podcast by working with the Opera Avengers Conceptual Manager to choose topics and create production timelines

·         Scheduling recording sessions and editing for Opera Avengers Podcast

·         Working with the Director of Adult Programming and the Director of Youth Education and Outreach to recruit singers and teaching artists for educational programming

 

Required qualifications:

Detail oriented, highly organized, proven sales ability, self-sufficient, creative, positive and assertive attitude.  Proficient in MS word, articulate verbal and written communication skills, ability to juggle multiple tasks at once and ability to think quickly on your feet. 

 

Preferred skills:

Performance/arts experience, background in teaching/education, podcast production.

 

Time commitment:

5 – 10 hours per week, flexible schedule

 

Compensation:

Volunteer position with opportunity for growth. Successful candidates will earn bonuses through commissions and/or grant-writing, up to $20k per year.
