Carpenter
Cleveland Play House, America’s first regional theatre and
recipient of the 2015 Regional Theatre Tony Award, is accepting applications
for a Properties Carpenter to support a 7show mainstage
season, school tour, and 2 MFA Acting Program shows. Applicants should have 1-3
years of professional experience, preferably in regional theatre. Detailed
knowledge of advanced woodworking required.
Some metal working and welding. Working knowledge of mechanics a
plus. Must be
able to plan projects and work independently, have good organizational and
communication skills, and be able to assist the Properties Master with general
props craftwork. Props Carpenter is
primarily responsible for construction of furniture and large props. Also maintains
shop tools and equipment as well as hardware, lumber and metal inventories.
Valid driver’s license, able to work at heights and to lift up to 50 lbs. Position is Full-time Seasonal,
eligible for benefits. Engagement runs
August 15, 2016 to May 5, 2017 with some layoff weeks between shows. E-mail letter of interest, resume, and
