Chagrin Valley Little Theatre depends on volunteer talent for all of its plays each season. Our auditions are open to anyone with an interest in performing in community theater. Age ranges, experience levels and other requirements change from production to production, so keep your eyes on us - you just may be the one we're looking for!

Auditions are publicized right here on our website, as well as via our mailing list, our Facebook page, our Twitter feed and via Fred Sternfeld's the Northeast Ohio Performing Arts List (NEohioPAL). You may also find our audition notices in your local newspapers from time to time.

• Unless specified otherwise, all CVLT auditions are open to all and no roles are pre-cast.
• No appointments are required.
• Come prepared to read from the script.
• Headshots and acting resumes are welcome, but not required.
• CVLT does not offer union contracts and performers are volunteers.

About the Play:

An ebullient, irreverent comedy where God explains a few things and answers some questions with the help of Angels Michael and Gabriel.

This is a long one-act from David Javerbaum, an Emmy-winning writer/producer for Jon Stewart's The Daily Show.

Annie

Performances are Nov 15th thru Dec 15th
Friday and Saturday nights and the following Sundays: Nov 24, Dec 1, and Dec 15th. There will also be a Saturday Matinee Nov 30th.

Come prepared with 16-32 measures of music in the style of the show. Please bring sheet music for the accompanist. Girls auditioning for Annie/Orphans should be familiar with the first verse of “It’s a Hard Knock Life”.

Come dressed for dance/movement.

All roles are open (except for the role of Sandy the dog). Men, women, and children of all ages are needed. The director encourages both family participation as well as individuals.

Rehearsals will run Sunday evenings 5-8 and Monday thru Thursday evenings 6:30-9. All children under age 13 (except for Annie who may need to stay later) will be dismissed by 8PM. Rehearsals will last longer the 2 weeks before the show opens.

Rehearsals will begin Sunday September 22 and you will only be called when needed. 

Principal Characters/Age of actor

• Annie (age 9-11)—Orphan: belter, mezzo (A- high F)
• Oliver Warburcks (40-60 and must be willing to be bald)—Warm-hearted, stiff-collared billionaire: baritone (C-high F)
• Miss Hannigan (20-50)—mean, drunken principal of Orphanage: mezzo (A-A flat)
• Grace Farrell (18-40)—beautiful secretary to Warbucks: soprano (A-high G)
• Rooster Hannigan (20-50)—Miss Hannigans’s no good brother: baritone (B-high G)
• Lily (20-40)—Rooster’s floozy girlfriend: soprano (D-high G)
• FDR (40-60)—the President: baritone (C flat-E sharp)
• Drake (20+)-- Warbucks’ English butler: baritone
• Orphans—6 named + 6 additional orphans
• Also needed for feature/ensemble roles are men, woman, teens and boys to play Bundles McCloskey, Dog Catchers, Lt. Ward, Mrs. Pugh, Cecille, Annette, Star to be, Bert Healy, Boylan Sisters, New Yorkers, Hoovervilles, Servants.
