convergence-continuum
announces auditions for the 12th annual NEOMFA Playwrights Festival!
Auditions to be held at the theatre located at
2438 Scranton Rd. Cleveland, Ohio 44113
The Northeast Ohio Master of Fine Arts (NEOMFA) is a unique graduate program that offers a terminal degree in Creative Writing. Each year, convergence-continuum hosts a 2-weekend festival featuring works by students of the program. Each show is given a full production for the playwright to experience their work on stage. Rehearsals will start in early January. Those who have participated in the past can testify that the Festival is an intensive, busy and thoroughly fun experience! Shows can range from 10-minute shorts to full length.
This season will feature 3 works: One full length play, and two one-acts.
In all, the three plays have 20 roles: from younger to older actors, of all genders, races and ethnicities.
Auditions will be Monday, December 19th at 7pm with possible additional call backs the 20th or 21st.
Please arrive early to fill out an audition form and with knowledge of your conflicts.
Auditions will consist of readings from the scripts, but the auditions will be general Festival auditions, not for specific plays. All three directors will be present. It is possible that you could be cast in a play that you did not read from during auditions. It is also could be possible that you may be cast in two plays.
*One production may require nudity. Comfortability with role will be asked on the audition form.
Performance dates are:
February 9-11th (Week 1: two one-acts)
February 16th-18th (Week 2: Full length play)
All cast and crew will receive a stipend for their participation
