BEREA, OH – The Baldwin Wallace Department of Theatre &
Dance presents Testing Ground: An
Informal Showing of Dance Works in Progress.
Testing Ground is
a biannual event that offers developing choreographers an opportunity to
present their work and receive feedback from both the audience, and invited
dance professionals from the greater Cleveland area. The performance is
designed to encourage dance artists to go back to the studio armed with
positive feedback that can improve their work.
Guest artists for the Spring 2017 edition of Testing Ground are Megan Young, an
award-winning choreographer and director of MegLouise Dance who is currently a
member of the dance faculty at Kent State University and Samuel McIntosh, a BW
alum, artist and educator. Sam is currently an Arts Administration Fellow at
the Community Partnership for Arts and Culture.
Testing Ground
features the choreography of Baldwin Wallace students Bre Pacek, Mawusi
Nenonene, Bec Montague, Sarah Price, Caroline Guy. Kiasia Parks, Analese
Chandler – Nieves, BW Faculty member Sara Whale, BW alum Britt Sterling, and
greater Cleveland dancer Lauren Holler.

William Allman Theatre, Kleist Center for Art and Drama, 95
E. Bagley Road in Berea.
$2 dollar suggested donation at the door, with proceeds going
towards travel expenses for Baldwin Wallace students attending the 2018 American
College Dance Association Regional Conference at Ohio State University.
