The Roommate is a dark comedy about what it takes to re-route your life– and what happens when the wheels fall off. Sharon is recently divorced and needs a roommateto share her Iowa home. Robyn needs a place hide and a chance to start over. But as Sharon begins to uncover Robyn’s secrets, they encourage her own deep-seated desire to transform her life completely.
Sharon is sheltered, curious, awkward socially, uncertain about her future and what she wants her life to be.
Robyn is from the Bronx, secretive, experienced in many ways, brash, and needing to escape from her bad choices.
Audtions will consist of readings from the script. Optionally you may also offer a 2-3 minute monologue of your choice.
