BEREA,
OH – The Department of Theatre and Dance at Baldwin Wallace University presents
fyoo zh en ’23: Sumagsisa, Beautiful Flower,
directed by Sara Whale and choreographed by Leslie Bell, Max Laskar, and Sara
Whale.
Choreographers
use movement to explore and illustrate Dr. Karen Barahona's research on the indigenous women
from the Chilcatotora community in Ecuador and their ingenuity and drive to create opportunities
for themselves and their families, while honoring and preserving Mother Earth.
There
will be a Q & A directly following Friday evening's performance, Feb 24.

Dr. Barahona, the choreographers and performers to find out more about the research and its relationship to the creative process.
