Most families go on vacation for a week or two. The Myers' family has been on the road for nine months, but it's more than a vacation for them. Young performers Cara and Colin Myers are performing in the National Road Tour of the historical musical Ragtime, and mother Julie is along for the ride. Father and husband Kevin Michael Myers -- also a fellow actor -- had to stay behind in Cleveland for work, but he visits them as often as he can along their journey.
Area playgoers can see the Myers siblings in Ragtime -- features a Tony Award-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens and a Tony-winning book by Terrence McNally -- when it performs this weekend in Toledo at the Stranahan Theater, located at 4645 Heatherdowns Boulevard. The Myers will share the stage on Friday, May 6 at 8pm; Saturday, May 7 at 2pm; and Sunday, May 8 at 2pm. To get tickets and more information, visit the official website.
Cara (10 years old) and Colin (12 years old) are both seasoned performers with many credits to their name on the Cleveland theatre scene. The multi-talented youngsters exhibit the poise and professionalism that will take them far in the industry. And their mom Julie is the best kind of stage mother -- always offering encouragement and completely supportive of their dreams.
Land of Cleve got a chance to catch up with this talented family, and find out what it's like to go on tour from both the performers point of view as well as the parent. To read their exclusive interviews, visit our site here:
