ABRACADABRA!  MAGIC SHOW RE-APPEARS ON STAGE

AT THE PLAYERS GUILD THEATRE WITH SPECIAL GUESTS!

 

CANTON, OH –  The Players Guild Theatre is presenting its popular summer fundraising magic show, THEATRE OF MAGIC,  for the third year.  Featuring a fun-filled line of magic, illusion and mentalism, the show returns with two special guests, locals,16 year-old Glenoak student, Nick Popa and 14 year-old Nikolas Kil!  Both were selected as guest magicians following the Players Guild’s call for up and coming magicians, and each will perform a 10 minute portion of their act during each performance of THEATRE OF MAGIC alongside world-renowned mentalist, Angela Funovits, and the Guild’s own Artistic Director and resident magician, Josh Erichsen. 

 

Featuring comedy, mystery, mentalism and daring escapes, THEATRE OF MAGIC is perfect for families and anyone who enjoys a magic show!  Angela Funovits is The Mentalist, and is featured on the CW’s popular show, PENN & TELLER’S FOOL US, the SyFy channel’s hit show, WIZARD WARS, as well as CW’s MASTERS OF ILLUSION, and NBC’s PHENOMENON.  Joshua Erichsen is The Magician, and the Guild’s own Artistic Director, who cheated death by escaping from a straightjacket while suspended from a burning rope high above the stage.  Together they will blend their unique styles of prestidigitation and present an evening full of fun and mysteries including the experiment Angela used in her mission to fool Penn and Teller! 

 

True to its title, THEATRE OF MAGIC will feature comedy, unbelievable acts of mentalism, sleight of hand, illusion and daring escapes. 

 

Show highlights include:

 

OVER THE SPEED LIMIT A startling appearance that will leave the audience members scratching their heads in disbelief!

 

RING FLIGHT REVOLUTION A borrowed ring from a spectator vanishes and ends up in one of the most unlikely of places.

 

PAINTBALL CATCH As the title implies, Angela will catch a signed paintball fired at her by an audience member… but to make it a little more interesting, she will catch it in her teeth! 

 

CHICKEN ROULETTE!  A fun bit of magic involving a young member of the audience and a live chicken.

 

THE PREDICTION A startling brain buster featuring randomly selected audience members and their imaginations.  It can only be seen to be believed.

 

THE ESCAPE A death-defying escape from a straight jacket while hanging high above the stage – yes, you read that correctly! 

 

THEATRE OF MAGIC is an fun-filled family event sure to leave audiences of all ages spellbound.  Tickets are on sale now, but will disappear fast! 

 

THEATRE OF MAGIC is scheduled for two performances on June 24 & 25 at 8:00 pm. Tickets for this Mainstage show are $20 for adults and $15 for those 17 and younger.
