Don’t miss out on this hilariously entertaining play about gloomy people!
Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike
A comedy by Christopher Durang
Comic playwright Christopher Durang borrows character names and plotlines from Anton Chekhov’s
Uncle Vanya and his other plays — but he remixes them with glee in this gently wacky family comedy set in the present day.
Middle-aged siblings Vanya and Sonia share a home in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where they bicker and complain about the circumstances of their lives. Suddenly, their movie star sister, Masha, swoops in with her hot young boyfriend, Spike, and threatens
to sell the house. Also on the scene are sassy maid Cassandra, who can predict the future, and a lovely young aspiring actress named Nina, whose presence irritates the imperious Masha.
