Workshop Players Present
Harvey
By Mary Chase
Directed by Valerie Farschman
This classic Pulitzer Prize-winning play will come to life on the Workshop Players’ stage for our spring offering. Elwood P. Dowd, a gracious gentleman, loved by all, is best friends with a Pooka … a giant white rabbit that only he can see. Embarrassed by these seeming hallucinations, his sister, Veta (and her daughter, Myrtle Mae), try to place Elwood in an institution, but confusion reigns, and they institutionalize Veta by mistake. It isn’t easy to untangle the error, but Elwood and his invisible companion play a vital role, and all’s well that ends well. The power of human imagination and the bond of friendship wins out!
