Education Stage Manager
Cleveland Play House, America’s first regional theatre and recipient of the 2015 Regional Theatre Tony Award, is accepting applications for a non-AEA Stage Manager to work with our Education Department presenting shows in grade schools throughout Northeast Ohio.  Position requires strong communication, organizational and planning skills.  The SM is responsible for running rehearsals and performances, putting together the weekly schedule for the performers, including arrival, departure, performances and workshops times, maintaining the performance as directed, giving line notes when necessary, sending out daily rehearsal/performance reports, communicating and coordinating arrival and production needs with the schools in advance, helping the actors unload, setup and strike scenery at each school, coordinating the cleaning and maintenance of costumes with the Costume Shop Manager as well as setting up and running sound for each performance. The SM must be able to lift 30 pounds, have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record and be comfortable driving a large passenger van. Occasional out of town overnight stays required.  Qualified candidates will have 2-3 years experience in Stage Managing.  Position starts as early as August 8th, 2016 and runs through December 21, 2016.
