Applied Drama for Students With Autism and other Developmental/Physical Disabilities

A One Week Online Professional Development Workshop for Teachers


Taught by Wendy Duke and Laura Valendza, co-founders of The Center for Applied Drama and Autism. Duke and Valendza have presented their work at the Milestones National Autism Conference, OCALICON, the National Autism Society Conference, Very Special Arts Intersections (state, regional and national) conferences.


August 10 - 14:  3 hours per day for a total of 15 hours:

2 - 5 pm on Zoom

$150.00. CEUs available.


This will be an interactive workshop. Be prepared to act!


Day 1 — Theatre Games for developing social skills in real life and online/Acting tips for the virtual classroom/studio

Day 2 — Physical Acting for communication with body language and voice/sound.

Day 3 — Inclusive Improv for all abilities

Day 4 — Emotional Expression: Self Advocacy and Anti-Bullying

Day 5 — Designing curriculum. Plus a Practice class with students. CADA students and volunteers will be on hand to assist with the training. Hand-outs will be available for participants to download.
