STOP KISS

Lorain County Community College announces non-equity auditions for our upcoming production of STOP KISS. We are seeking 6 performers and various production positions for this production.

Story Synopsis: After Callie meets Sara, the two unexpectedly fall in love. Their first kiss provokes a violent attack that transforms their lives in a way they could never anticipate.

Available Roles

• Callie – late 20s to early 30s.
• Sara – mid 20s to early 30s.
• George – late 20s to early 30s.
• Peter – mid 20s to early 30s.
• Mrs. Winsley – early 40s to early 50s.
• Detective Cole – late 30s to mid 40s.
• Nurse – late 30s to mid 40s.

LCCC Theatre embraces diversity and inclusion and utilizes a non-traditional casting policy. Non-traditional casting is a method designed to increase artistic options by expanding casting opportunities for women, actors of color, seniors, and actors with disabilities in roles where race, gender, age, or the presence or absence of a disability are not germane. To that end, we encourage all actors to audition, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, or physical ability. Please note that this play contains moments of intimacy.

How to Audition

Auditions will take place on Monday, September 11 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and Tuesday, September 12 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Callbacks, if necessary, will be held on Thursday, September 14 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Actors will be asked to read from the script and to participate in some group improvisational movement exercises, so come prepared to move. Please bring a resume and headshot if possible or be prepared to fill out an audition form and have your photo taken. Plan to stay for at least half an hour. Scripts are available on 2 hr. reserve at the circulation desk of LCCC’s Bass Library.

Rehearsals

Rehearsals are scheduled around actor availability October-November 2023. Rehearsals will begin Monday, October 2, 2023. Rehearsals will be Monday-Thursday from 6:30 - 9:30 pm, with some Sunday afternoon rehearsals from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.

Performances

Performances will take place on Thursday, November 16, Friday, November 17, and Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 7:30 pm in the Cirigliano Studio Theatre on the campus of Lorain County Community College.
