Join us for a live recording of Episode 2 (“Building
Mana”) of The Mystery of Easter Island, a new audio fiction podcast
based on the extraordinary life of ethnographer Katherine Routledge.
The Mystery of Easter Island follows Routledge as she travels from
England, spends more than a year on Easter Island, and then travels back home —
where, celebrated, she struggles with incipient mental illness and to recreate the sense of purpose she felt on the island. Routledge made significant
progress in unraveling the enigmas of Easter Island’s forgotten culture, its un-deciphered language and its famous stone “giant heads.” The Mystery of
Easter Island was a Fiction Podcast Finalist at
the Austin Film Festival.
