Properties Carpenter

Cleveland Play House, America’s first regional theatre and recipient of the 2015 Regional Theatre Tony Award, is accepting applications for a Properties Carpenter.  The Props team consists of the Properties Manager, Assistant Properties Manager, Properties Carpenter, Properties Artisan and Apprentice. Applicants should have 2-4 years of professional experience, preferably in regional theatre. Detailed knowledge of advanced woodworking, metal working and welding required. Working knowledge of mechanics, rigging, and CAD a plus. 

Must be able to plan projects and work independently, have good organizational and communication skills.  Props Carpenter is primarily responsible for construction, restoration or modification of furniture, set dressing and hand props built of wood, steel or other materials and assists with the load in and strike of all productions.   Valid driver’s license, able to work at heights and to lift up to 75 lbs.  Position is Full-time.  Position available to May 12, 2019.  E-mail letter of interest, resume, and references to Penny Zaletel, Director of Production, pzaletel@clevelandplayhouse.com or mail to Properties Carpenter Search, Cleveland Play House, 1901 E. 13^th Street, Suite 200, Cleveland, OH  44114.  EOE/AA.
