HOMOS, OR EVERYONE IN AMERICA

NOW ONSTAGE AT CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM

Convergence-continuum continues its 2019 Season, “Star-Crossed,” with the Ohio premiere of Homos, or Everyone in America, by Jordan Seavey, directed by Clyde Simon.

Unfolding like jumbled flashes of memory, Homos, or Everyone in America is told through interweaving glimpses, jumping around among moments over a five year period in the relationship of a contemporary couple. What does it mean to be in a committed relationship? Is monogamy just monotony? If navigating this isn’t complicated enough, what can happen when, on top of everything else, the couple is unexpectedly confronted by a vicious hate crime?  Homos is a fearless, often funny, openly emotional examination of the moments that can bring two people together – or pull them apart.

“A daringly frank, funny and affecting new play. Mr. Seavey’s portrait of young gay New Yorkers negotiating the sometimes thorny nature of love and intimacy has an arresting, even bruising honesty.”   -The New York Times

“Seavey is dealing with very large ideas that have bedeviled the gay ‘community’ – and everybody else – forever. “   -New York Magazine

Homos is directed by convergence-continuum’s Artistic Director, Clyde Simon. Members of the cast are Nate Homolka, Kieron Cindric, Corey East and Rocky Encalada.
