WCA Ballet Company is seeking a skilled and dedicated Ballet Instructor to teach intermediate–advanced technique and pointe within our growing pre-professional training program and adult ballet division.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a structured, technique-driven program that prioritizes both artistic development and technical excellence.

About the Program

WCA Ballet Company provides a pre-professional track for serious dancers alongside a high-quality adult ballet program. Training emphasizes:

• Classical technique and proper alignment

• Strength, musicality, and artistry

• Progressive and safe pointe development

• Performance opportunities, including full-scale productions

Responsibilities

• Teach intermediate and advanced ballet technique classes

• Instruct and supervise pointe classes with a strong focus on safety and progression

• Deliver structured lessons aligned with program curriculum and training goals

• Provide clear corrections and individualized feedback

• Support choreography and performance preparation as needed

• Maintain a focused, disciplined, and positive classroom environment

• Collaborate with artistic staff and program leadership

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in classical ballet training (required)

• Experience teaching intermediate to advanced levels and pointe

• Thorough understanding of pointe readiness, alignment, and injury prevention

• Prior teaching and/or professional performance experience preferred

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• Commitment to maintaining high standards while supporting student growth

Position Details

• Type: Independent Contractor (1099)

• Schedule: Part-time; based on program needs (evenings and/or weekends likely)

• Compensation: Competitive, based on experience

• Location: In-person at Wayne Center for the Arts, Wooster, Ohio
