The Star on My Heart is a true story about Holocaust survivor and I Am a Star author Dr. Inge Auerbacher. It follows Inge's story of her time before the war in Germany, during her time in the Terezin concentration camp in Prague, and her recovery and struggle with tuberculosis in America after the war.  Written by local playwright and director Angela Miloro-Hansen, this is last weekend of a four week tour.

OPEN TO AGES 7-18
Please prepare a 1-2 minute upbeat musical theatre song. You may sing it a capella or bring an instrumental recording to sing along to (we will be able to hook a phone to a speaker, so please know the YouTube link if you go that route!)
Auditioners will then read from the script and learn a fun dance! Come prepared to move.

Rehearsals will take place primarily in Chardon and performances will be in Burton. Auditions are at Celebration Lutheran Church in Chardon at 10621 Auburn Road.

JOJO - a smart child with a wild imagination. Strong singer.

CAT IN THE HAT - mischievous, fun, imaginative. Must move well.

HORTON THE ELEPHANT - sympathetic, gentle, looks for the good. Strong singer & actor

MR. MAYOR - Jojo’s father, upstanding member of the community

MRS. MAYOR - Jojo’s mother, upstanding member of the community

GERTRUDE MCFUZZ - self-conscious, grows to be confident. Strong singer & actor

MAYZIE LA BIRD - self centered, vain, larger than life. Strong singer

WICKERSHAM BROTHERS - love to play pranks and tease. Must be very strong movers

BIRD GIRLS - know everything, narrate. 3 strong singers & actors

SOUR KANGAROO - loud, brassy, confident. Strong singer

YOUNG KANGAROO - fiesty, big personality

YERTLE THE TURTLE - authoritative, commanding

THE WHOS - citizens of Whoville, tight-knit, supportive, great character roles
