As we proudly celebrate our 35 years of making music, the Brecksville Broadview Heights Community Chorus (BBHCC) is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Artistic Director to lead our ensemble into its next chapter. This is a unique opportunity to shape the creative vision of a beloved community institution known for its passion, inclusivity, and musical excellence.

The Role

The Artistic Director is the creative heart of our chorus, responsible for the overall artistic direction and musical quality of the ensemble. You will inspire our singers through thoughtful repertoire selection, engaging rehearsal preparation, and expressive conducting at all performances.

Working in collaboration with the Executive Director and the Board of Trustees, you will ensure our programming celebrates our mission while reaching new audiences. Beyond the podium, you will serve as a key ambassador for the chorus, participating in board meetings and supporting our recruitment and fundraising initiatives.

Qualifications

We are looking for a leader who blends musical expertise with a heart for community.

• Education: Minimum of a Baccalaureate degree in Music.
• Experience: 3–5 years of choral conducting experience (instrumental conducting experience is a plus!).
• Technical Skill: Keyboard proficiency sufficient to lead rehearsals in the absence of an accompanist.
• Leadership Style: A genuine ability to connect with, mentor, and inspire vocalists of diverse ages, skill levels, and backgrounds.
• Vision: A sincere passion for honoring a 35-year legacy while fostering growth and innovation for the future.

Position Details

• Salary: $8,400 for a 9 month season
