“Hands on a Hardbody” who will be appearing on stage in the

Hudson Players revival that opens February 1^st!

An intrepid Hudson Players team traveled to a warehouse in New Jersey where the truck was stored, loaded it on a travel trailer and returned to Ohio where it was wheeled on stage in Hudson…barely clearing the theatre loading dock door by an inch on either side!

 

Featuring a tuneful country-rock score and soulful lyrics by Phish's Trey Anastasio and Amanda Green, this awesome new musical will make its northeast Ohio community theatre premiere at Hudson Players.

“Hands on a Hard Body: The Documentary”

will be screened at Hudson Players this Sunday…Jan. 20^th at 7:00 p.m.

 

The film will be presented at Barlow Community Center, 41 S. Oviatt Street in Hudson. The runtime is about one-and-a half hours.

The movie admission is free or whatever those attending care to donate.

 

 

The musical is based on a real-life event chronicled in a 1997 documentary film of the same name.  As the action unfolds we meet 10 down on their luck Texans who enter a contest to see who can keep their hands on a Nissan truck “hardbody” the longest. The last man or woman standing while touching the truck gets to keep it. From Jesus-loving Norma, injured and out-of-work J.D., to boastful former winner Benny and hopeful dreamer Kelli, each character has their own musical story to tell. Hilarious at times, yet poignant and hopeful, Hands on a Hardbody takes audiences for an amazing musical ride, with only one winner driving away with the American dream!

 

The show is directed by Will C. Crosby,

with musical direction by Bridget Jankowski

and choreography by Mo Martin
