This non-union, paid, short film is a pilot for a coming-of-age, urban/rural, episodic drama inspired by true events. In addition to performance duties, cast will be expected to participate in one (1) recorded interview. Cast will be STRONGLY considered for subsequent episodic series.

ROLES:

Abigail Askance (Older Ruth): older (50+), white, female. Hard life, A bit more polished than her younger self (below), committed to her horses.

Abigail Askance (Younger Ruth): (30s), white female. Hard life, no filter, committed to her horses.

Terrence Williams (Lawrence): teenager (15+), African American male. Confident, directionless, could save the world or destroy his community.

Gloria Williams (Law’s GM): (55+), black/mixed female. Seasoned, gentle, but no-pushover.

Abigail Hampshire (School Counselor): (35+), any ethnicity/culture/race, female. Seasoned, gentle, but no-pushover.

Maria Solano (Lawrence’s GF): teenager (15+), Multiracial/ethnic, female. Urban-raised, career-focused, loyal.

Chance Johnson (GL): teenager (15+), Black, male. Gang Leader. Urban-raised, tough, but fair, balanced, and judicial, loyal.

Marcel Thompson (AGL): teenager (15+), male or female. Gang Second-in-Command. Martial arts or boxing background is preferred.

ROLE FILLED Salvador Molinaro (Gino):  older (60+), Italian man. “retired” mob man. Keeping a low profile, but still in charge.

Gang Members (6): teenagers (14-17), all ethnicities/cultures/races.

 

This shoot will take place in various locations in Northeast Ohio. No nudity or intimate physical contact. For some cast possible close proximity with horses.

Shoot date: Late Summer/Early Fall 2026 (TBD)

Shoot location: Indoors/Outdoors, Northeast Ohio.

Craft Services: Yes

Compensation Package: This is a nominally compensated, non-union shoot. Actors may be incorporated into subsequent feature film project.
