Godspell tells the story of the development of Jesus as a leader utilizing the parables leading up to the gospels and the first apostles of the Christian faith. The structure of the show is intended to create a unified community. The structure of the musical is that of a series of parables, mostly based on the Gospel of Matthew. The parables are interspersed with a variety of modern music set primarily to lyrics from traditional hymns. In this workshop we will discuss concept for this show, song selections for your audition, as well as teach a dance to be used in the show. We look forward to working with those of you who are up to meeting the challenge of creating and presenting Godspell.
