It's Women's History Month --
Come meet some Feisty Females From Ohio!

MADAM PRESIDENT: THE STORY OF VICTORIA WOODHULL. Victoria was also the first woman to speak before Congress (1871) and she and her sister, Tennessee Claflin, owned their own newspaper and were the first female stockbrokers on Wall Street!  Victoria's presidential platform included suffrage for ALL (including women), an 8-hour workday, minority representation in Congress and public housing for the poor. Radical ideas in the 1870s!  This program will be presented on:

*Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. at First Congregational UCC at 330 Second St. in Elyria. Call the church at 440-323-5454 Ext. 13 for reservations. Tickets are $6.00 and payable at the door and reservations are required by Monday, March 2, 2020.

*Tuesday, March 10, 2020; 6:00 p.m. at the Elyria Public Library West River Branch, 1194 W. River Road North, Elyria, Ohio. This reader's theatre storytelling program There is no charge for this presentation which is open to the public. For more information, contact the library at 440-324-2270.


*Friday, March 27, 2020; 3:00 p.m.: FEISTY FEMALES FROM OHIO will be shown at Ohio University Lancaster in Brasee Hall, 1570 Granville Pike, Lancaster, OH 43130. Hear the stories of some gutsy gals who did things their own way. There is no charge for this presentation which is open to the public. *Saturday, March 28, 2020; 1:30 p.m.: TRAIL MAGIC: THE GRANDMA GATEWOOD STORY will be presented at Studio 35, 3055 Indianola Avenue in Columbus, Ohio. Find out about Emma Gatewood's record breaking hike on the Appalachian Trail in 1955 with this Emmy-nominated documentary that was recently named "Best Local Documentary" at the Chagrin Film Festival.
