Don't miss the final week of American La Ronde, adaptation by Steven Dietz, directed by Scott Plate presented by the Baldwin Wallace University Department of Theatre and Dance.
A simple silver bracelet travels through the lives of ten bold and
desperate lovers, giving us a glimpse of the intrigue and heartache left in its
wake. American La Ronde is a provocative
and fully contemporary re-imagining of Arthur Schnitzler’s Reigen, known by its French translation La Ronde, adapted by
Steven Dietz. The play examines what intimacy is, why it can be difficult to
sustain, and why we invest in fantasy when we find the path to intimacy too
difficult. Most importantly, it illustrates the lengths to which people will go
to live the life they imagine for themselves. American La Ronde is sexy, literate, emotional, and highly
theatrical.
Staged by Director, Professor Scott Plate and BW Assistant
Professor of Dance Sara Whale, with an original score by BW Composition major
Steven Chauvette, American La Ronde
will also add an element of stylized movement and explore the relationship
between Theatre and Dance.
