Scenic Artist
Cleveland Play House, America’s first regional theatre and
recipient of the 2015 Regional Theatre Tony Award, is accepting applications
for a Scenic Artist. The Scenic Artist’s
primary responsibility is to assist the Charge Scenic Artist in mixing colors,
creating samples, and executing the treatments for all scenic elements.
Qualified candidates must be knowledgeable in realistic faux finishes, 3D
texturing, cartooning, and staining. The ability to take direction well, work
independently, and lift 50lbs is required. Ideal applicants will be
collaborative, flexible, positive, communicative, and able to assist in the
supervision and leading of an apprentice and overhire scenic artists. A minimum
of 1-3 years of professional experience, preferably in regional theatre, is
required. Position is full-time, seasonal, and eligible for benefits.
