11:00 am

"Podcasting: New Opportunities in Dramatic Storytelling"

Led by Justin Glanville & Angie Hayes

In this presentation, writer Justin Glanville and sound designer Angie Hayes talk about creating the scripted audio drama Munchen, Minnesota. They’ll share stories about writing in an audio-only, serialized format, as well as how they cast, record and sound-design each episode.

1:30 pm

"Crafting the Screenplay: Three-act Structure"

Led by Simone Barros

One of the building blocks of the screenwriting craft is the three-act structure. In this workshop, novice screenwriters gain a deep understanding of that structure--including the inciting incident, climax, and dénouement--while more experienced screenwriters enhance their creative problem-solving techniques. For playwrights, this workshop serves as a great way to step into screenwriting, as the craft of playwriting directly translates into the form.
