The Dark Room is a place where writers take center stage and their work has a chance to grow. The Dark Room is an ongoing event held on the second Tuesday of each month. The Dark Room affords emerging and veteran playwrights the space and resources to develop new works. It offers a venue to workshop plays, novels, poems, or any other written work in a supportive, yet critical environment.

Tuesday, May 10th

7:00pm: Sign-up begins for writers and actors (space is very limited this month - we will  have room for approximately 5 pieces). Writers names will be drawn randomly at 7:15pm to determine whose work will be presented. Writers can bring up to 10 pages of work to be read; actors will be cast on the spot!

7:30pm: Open Mic Session readings begin

8:30pm:  Dark Room directors Mindy Herman and John Busser will lead an open discussion about Dark Room. Let's talk about what you find most valuable about Dark Room, what isn't working for you or any ideas on how to make the event grow and increase its worth to you as a writer, actor or audience member. We will spend an hour (or as long as it takes!) to listen to your concerns and feedback and, together, Dark Room will continue to evolve. Suggested donation of $5 is welcomed at the door, but not required.
