Aurora Community Theatre is proud to present special benefit performances of Sondheim Tribute Review.

Founded in 1959, ACT has earned the admiration of our patrons and the reputation of presenting fine community theatre. Many factors have helped build this reputation. The philosophy of ACT entails respect for the individual, willing cooperation of all involved, and striving for excellence.  

In 2021, the musical theatre world lost a legend.

Sondheim was widely acknowledged as the most innovative, most influential, and most important composer and lyricist in modern Broadway history. For more than 50 years he has set an unsurpassed standard of brilliance and artistic integrity in musical theatre. His accolades include an Academy Award, eight Tony Awards (more than any other composer) including the Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre, multiple Grammy awards, multiple Drama Desk Awards, and a Pulitzer Prize.

Sondheim Tribute Revue includes songs from most of Sondheim’s shows including Sweeney Todd, Company, Into The Woods, Anyone Can Whistle, and many more.

Director and Producer Katie Hintze leads the creative team with David W. Coxe Music Director and Ann Nyenhuis Technical Director/Stage Manager. 

The talented cast of singers include Abby Becker, Don Bernardo, Josh Budd, Ron Davis, Brooke Hamilton, Stephanie Malfara, Jordon Matthew, Genesis Perez-Padilla, Abby Rosu, and David Rusnak

Aurora Community Theatre announces their 64th season which includes Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None Oct 27-Nov 18, 2023, Arsenic & Old Lace Jan 26-Feb 17, 2024, Gypsy Apr 26-May 18, 2024, and Hair Jun 21-Jul 13, 2024. 

Tickets will go on sale later this year. 

Aurora Community Theatre is located at 115 E. Pioneer Trail, near the intersection of SR 43 and 306, at the gazebo, in the center of Aurora. ACT extends appreciation to The Denise G. & Norman E. Wells, Jr. Family Foundation for their generous underwriting of the Wells Main Stage.
