Some of the most beloved songs in musical theatre history have something in common.
They were written by LGBTQ+ artists.
This Friday, Western Reserve Playhouse celebrates the composers and lyricists whose voices helped shape Broadway with OUT LOUD: A Pride Cabaret
This one-night-only event showcases songs from some of musical theatre's most influential creators, including Stephen Sondheim, Howard Ashman, William Finn, Andrew Lippa, Jerry Herman, Benj Pasek, Marc Shaiman, and more.
The evening includes beloved favorites such as:
"Part of Your World" from The Little Mermaid
"Somewhere That's Green" from Little Shop of Horrors
"Journey to the Past" from Anastasia
"Being Alive" from Company
"You Will Be Found" from Dear Evan Hansen
Along the way, performers will share stories about the writers behind the music and the lasting impact these artists have had on Broadway and beyond.
Whether you're celebrating Pride, love musical theatre, or simply enjoy hearing great singers perform great songs, OUT LOUD offers an evening filled with joy, community, and unforgettable music.
Join us as we celebrate the voices that helped shape the American musical theatre canon—and the artists who continue to inspire generations of performers and audiences alike.
