Talespinner is seeking the following: Actor age 16-25 (approximately). Mixed-Race, Bicultural, Black, Afro-Latine, of Latin American and/or Caribbean Descent. Character pronouns are he/him but the role can be played by an actor of any gender. Production is Last Stop on Market Street, and the role is CJ, a curious, smart young boy that loves animals, he doesn't have many friends back home, has to stay with her grandma for the weekend and is counting the hours until he can get back home. Performance dates are March 9-17, 2024. Compensation is $400.
Last Stop on Market Street is based on the multi-award-winning children's book by Matt de la Pena, and is a musical. To audition, send the following to rtwardzik@talespinnercle.org by end of day December 18th: 1. A recent resume
2 A 1-2 minute video of you retelling a favorite children's story (can be a fable or fairy tale, or something more contemporary)
3. A 30-60 second section of you singing a favorite contemporary song, with some kind of accompaniment (karaoke track, piano, guitar, etc.)
