Dontrell, Who Kissed the Sea

About the play…
It's a month before his first day in college and Dontrell wakes up from a dream that will change his life. This young African American's unconventional journey begins with swimming lessons, and
ends in a boat drifting into the sea to meet his grandfather's spirit. This magical play is about our connection to the past and living in the moment.

About the process…
The cast will function as an ensemble and will compliment
or underscore the play with singing and movement. Singing and movement experience is
not required, but actors inspired by music and movement or experience with singing and dancing are encouraged to audition.
Rehearsals for this production will begin on Tuesday, April 14th, 2015. Performances will be in the James Levin Theatre on Thursdays, Fridays,
Saturdays and Mondays at 7pm May 20th – June 6th.

Auditions are by appointment only. Auditioners will be asked to read sides and may be asked to present a 1 minute prepared monologue of their choosing.
