Tessa Cannon grew up as a gymnast and competition dancer in upstate New York, where she learned styles ranging from jazz and hip hop to ballet, tap, and modern. She continued dancing in college as a dance minor at Ohio Wesleyan University, where she performed and choreographed for both student- and faculty-directed productions. She has danced professionally as a Canton Charge Girl,Cleveland Gladiator Girl, and as a Cleveland Cavalier Girl for the 2016-2017 season. Despite having moved to Columbus as a vet tech working for the Columbus Zoo, she makes the commute weekly to rehearse for Cleveland Dance Project's third season showcase on December 8 at Cleveland Heights High School, as a choreographer and dancer.
