Part-Time/Seasonal:Fall 2022/Spring 2023 Immediate Supervisor:Director of Education/Producer of Youth Theatre Compensation:Hourly rate of $25/hour STATEMENT OF JOB: GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching Artists serve as a lead teacher during our Akron After School Program. Teaching Artists must be comfortable leading a group of young people in improvisation games, movement and vocal exercises, and other theatre-related exercises as well as implementing a provided curriculum (of varying lengths) to fill classroom time in an engaging, creative, and fun way. We are also interested in teaching artists with special skills in theatre, visual arts, improvisation, movement, stage combat, musical theatre, or text work. Teaching experience in an urban school environment is preferred. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Leading improvisational theater games
Teaching basic theatre history and awareness in an age-appropriate way
Directing youth in writing and rehearsing original plays
Assisting with lesson planning
Strong and confident classroom management skills
Ability to work with both Elementary and Middle School Students
Reliable transportation
A love for the arts and working with young people!
QUALIFICATIONS:
Preferred Bachelor's degree or working towards a Bachelor’s Degree or certification in early childhood education, education, fine arts, or performing arts
High School student with experience in theatre and teaching
Professional experience working with children at the elementary and/or secondary school level
Passion for arts education

Position: Assistant Teacher in Theatre Full-Time/Part-Time/Seasonal: Fall 2022/Spring 2023 Immediate Supervisor: Director of Education/Producer of Youth Theatre Compensation: Hourly rate of $15/hour STATEMENT OF JOB: GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Teaching Assistants serve as an assistant to the Lead Teacher during our Akron After School Program. Teaching Assistants must be comfortable assisting a teacher in improvisation games, movement and vocal exercises, and other theatre-related exercises as well as implementing a provided curriculum (of varying lengths) to fill classroom time in an engaging, creative, and fun way. We are also interested in artists with special skills in theatre, visual arts, improvisation, movement, stage combat, musical theatre, or text work. Working towards or obtained a High School Diploma/GED preferred
Experience working in the performing arts
