Faith Lutheran Church – Kent, Ohio is seeking to hire a part-time Organist to enhance congregational worship by providing organ and/or piano accompaniment for hymns and liturgy at the Sunday worship service.

Responsibilities include playing at all Sunday services and special festival services including but not limited to mid-week services for Advent and Lent, Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Easter.  In addition, work with the Pastor and Worship Board to coordinate the liturgical theme for the day, and select organ and/or piano music consistent with the practices of the Lutheran church.  Other duties and responsibilities are listed in the job description, available upon request.

Qualifications include bachelor’s degree or equivalent skill level in organ, piano, and keyboard techniques; ability to perform a wide variety of musical styles; one year of experience playing liturgy music and accompanying choirs and soloists; effective interpersonal communication skills; strong organizational skills; and understand the importance of music in the liturgy.
