NOW ENROLLING KIDS AGES 12-17

JUNE 19-30

The Lakewood Young Filmmakers Academy Summer Camp is a two week filmmaking boot camp in which students, ages 12-17, will write, shoot and edit a real film from start to finish with the help of award winning industry professionals serving as instructors and counselors.

The camp culminates in a red carpet premiere of their film at a local theater where their movie will be seen by an audience of filmmakers, media, fans, friends and family.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

WEEK 1

• Classes will be held Monday – Friday from 8am-12pm at the University of Akron, Lakewood Branch located at 1415 Warren Rd, Lakewood.
• Students will choose crew positions and receive instruction from award winning industry professionals
• Students will complete the pre-production phase (writing, casting, planning, etc.)

WEEK 2

• Students will shoot their film at various locations and edit the film at the LYFA Studio inLakewood.
• The film will be screened at a RED CARPET PREMIERE at The Capitol Theatre followed by an audience Q&A with the students.
