In the Blood by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks is a modern, urban riff on Nathaniel Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter.  Homeless mother Hester La Negrita lives with her five kids on the tough streets of the inner city. Her kids, played by adult actors, double as five other people in her life: ex-boyfriend, social worker, doctor, best friend and minister. While Hester's kids fill her life with joy (comical moments amid the harsh world of poverty) the supposedly supportive adults only hold her down.  Will anything prevent a tragic end?

In the Blood is directed by Cory Molner, with a cast featuring actors Jeannine Gaskin, Daryl Kelley, Anthony X, Shannon Sharkey, Grace Mitri and Patrick Gladish.

In the Blood has its final three performances this Thurs, Fri & Sat at 8 pm at the Liminis Theater, 2438 Scranton Rd, Cleveland 44113 in the historic Tremont neighborhood.  Fri & Sat tickets: $20 general admission, $15 seniors (65+), $10 students. Thurs tickets:  $15, $12 and $8.
