For Immediate Release - Casting call:

Sexual Politics, A Modern Adaptation of Shakespeare's Measure for Measure,
by J.C. Cifranic and directed by Tyson Douglas Rand will be co-produced as a staged reading by The Cleveland Shakespeare Festival in collaboration with Playwrights Local for their upcoming Cleveland Playwrights Festival.

There will be one, FREE performance at 2:30pm on Saturday, Sept. 29th,.in the Creative Space at Waterloo Arts, 397 East 156th St. Cleveland, OH 44110

There will be four mandatory rehearsals as follows;

1.) First Read Through and table work.

2.) Basic Staging and movement.
3.) Stop and go work through.

4.) Finale run-through with notes on Sept. 28th

These will occur between Sept 17th and the final run through on Sept. 28th.

No rehearsal will exceed 3 hours - probably 7 to 10 pm.

Specific dates and times will be determined by actor availability.

The script/language is present day, thoughtful and timely.
Participation is voluntary.

Kevin Angelletti: Deputy Mayor of Vienna - a small U.S. City

Vince Patterson: Mayor of Vienna

Clark Castillo: District Attorney

Lucky Pompey: A gender fluid individual. Friend to -

Isabella Sorrel: An asexual woman. Sister to -

Claudio Martes: A happily married gay man. Isabella's brother.

Mariana Angelletti: The estranged wife of an ambitious politician.

Based on guidelines recommended by the playwright;

Gender requirements: "Lucky" should be cast non-binary or transgender.

Racial requirements:   "Clark" should be cast Hispanic/Creole/Latino/AfAm.

 "Isabella & Claudio" should present as genetic siblings.
