Free Mobile Media Classes

(July 14, 2015 – Akron, Ohio – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE) The Akronist is proud to announce a new partnership with the Highland Square Porch Rokr Music and Art Festival to provide free mobile media workshops.

About the Workshop:

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at journalism, but didn’t know where to start? Do you struggle with how to promote your work, but feel intimated by social media? In preparation for next month’s Porch Rokr Music and Art Festival in Highland Square, the Akronist is holding a mobile media workshop at the Highland Square Library. Each 45-minute session is a stand-alone class designed to give you an understanding of digital media “on-the-go.” Some of the subjects covered will include: uploading a video from your phone to YouTube, correctly and effectively using hashtags and composing the 140-character caption commonly known as a Tweet. Freelance journalists Yolanda Heisler and Connie Williams will lead the workshop and members of the Akronist staff will be on hand to answer any questions. This class is open to ALL; there are no restrictions. Registration not required. Email benjamin@akronist.com with any questions.

This workshop is a MUST for artists, musicians, vendors or anyone who wants to learn to better promote their work via social media.

About Porch Rokr:
