Dobama Theatre Seeks Box Office Assistant, Concessions Manager/Bartender
and House Managers for its 2016/17 Season
 
BOX OFFICE ASSISTANT (Part-Time)
THE OPPORTUNITY
Dobama Theatre is currently seeking a part-time Box Office Assistant.
The position reports directly to the Associate Managing Director.
The Box Office Assistant will work four hours per day, Wednesday through Saturday during mainstage performance weeks. The position begins August 2016. 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include, but are not be limited to:
-       Reviewing and answering all box office e-mail and phone messages
-       Selling tickets to walk-up patrons
-       Operating all ticketing system functions, including taking orders, entering memberships, completing membership exchanges, creating and running reports and keeping abreast of system updates
-       Printing, processing and organizing tickets
-       Other office support as needed, dependent on skills and experience
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Work experience with a computerized ticketing system preferred, but not required. Experience handling money, a congenial and welcoming phone personality and strong work ethic desired.
COMPENSATION
The position pays $11/hour. The Box Office Assistant will work up to 16 hours/week during performance weeks. For a full performance schedule, please visit dobama.org.

CONCESSIONS MANAGERS/BARTENDERS (Part-Time)
THE OPPORTUNITY
Dobama Theatre is currently seeking part-time Concessions Managers/Bartenders for our 2016/17 Season. The Concessions Manager/Bartender would set up 30 minutes before the theatre opens and work through the end of intermission at each performance. The season runs from September 1, 2016 thru May 21, 2017. This person would be needed for weekday and Saturday performances. For full performance schedule visit dobama.org
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include, but are not limited to:
-       Serving patrons in an efficient and inviting manner.
-       Keeping inventory of all beer, wine and liquor products
-       Stocking the bar and cleaning up after intermission, up after intermission
-       Serving beer and wine, building/serving a limited menu of cocktails
-       Balancing the drawer nightly and preparing a bar report
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bartending, food service, or concessions experience preferred, but not required. Should be professional, organized and have an engaging personality. 
COMPENSATION
The position pays $40 per service, plus tips. Hours would be during Thursday, Friday & Saturday night Mainstage performances (which comprise 91 nights during our 2016/17 season.)

HOUSE MANAGER (Part-time)
THE OPPORTUNITY
Dobama Theatre is currently looking for House Managers for its 2016/17 Season.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
House Managers are responsible for the smooth operation of the front of house prior to and during performances of Dobama Theatre’s Mainstage productions and other events. This includes the preparation of concessions, overseeing ushers, programs and patron issues. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
-       Assigning ushers to needed positions
-       Instructing ushers in their responsibilities prior to, during and after performances
-       Ensuring the theatre, lobby and restrooms areas are clean and orderly 
-       Stocking and preparing concessions prior to performances 
-       Taking inventory of concession items to ensure proper stocking
-       Overseeing the stuffing and distribution of programs and flyers prior to the performances
-       Answering questions from volunteers and patrons in an accurate manner.
-       Preparing and sending House Management Report
-       Confirming opening of the house with Stage Manager
-       Arranging for special seating needs (i.e. handicapped, hearing or sight impaired, VIPs)
-       Assisting with opening night parties and other receptions 
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants should exhibit a positive attitude, enjoy working with wide variety of people and present themselves as a professional representative of Dobama Theatre. Experience preferred, but not required.
COMPENSATION
House Managers are paid $50/per service. Two house managers are scheduled to work for each Mainstage performance.
