STAGE COMBAT

 

Stage combat is a movement system used to keep actors safe while performing the violence needed in a play. These classes will focus on the techniques for movement without weapons, including slaps, punches, and hair pulls. Each class will focus on a different range of violent movements and then participants will perform them with a partner.

 

Tennis shoes and movement clothes required.

 

Saturdays / October 14, 21, 28

Taught by Kelly Elliott

For twenty years, Kelly Elliott has taught, choreographed, and performed stage combat around northeast Ohio, Michigan, Virginia, and Washington DC. Her work has been seen at Cleveland Public Theatre, Dobama Theater, and The Beck Center among others.
