Cleveland Play House (CPH) is casting a small/medium Shakespearean-breed dog, for its 2017 production of Shakespeare in Love, directed by Laura Kepley.

 

Seeking well-trained dog in a breed corresponding to that of the Shakespearean era with the following preferred skills sets:

• Able to perform in hyper-stimulating environment (large cast, stage lights, audience reactions, etc.)
• Able to perform “special” trick via non-verbal command (trick is not specific and can be something the dog is already trained to perform)
• Able to enter/exit stage off-leash

 

Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, August 15^th, and will be held Tuesday-Sunday. First day of full rehearsal with the dog is still to be determined (likely to occur during the week of August 28^th). Performances run from September 9^th through October 1^st with a possible extension until October 8^th. This is a paid position within the cast.
