Join Radio on the Lake Theatre for a Sci-Fi Summer of Classic Radio Plays

Shaker Heights, OH 4/14/25 - Radio on the Lake Theatre, Northeast Ohio's only professional theater company exclusively dedicated to the audio arts, announces a new live radio play series. The Audio Gallery Series at Negative Space will spotlight classic and contemporary audio drama with actors and sound effects artists bringing some of the most beloved scripts to life. This summer, the company will focus on science fiction, with performances of The Time MachineThe Day The Earth Stood Still and War of the Worlds. The plays will be performed at the Negative Space Art Gallery, located at 3820 Superior Avenue, 2nd Floor, in Cleveland's Asia Town district.


"Radio on the Lake Theatre has searched for a venue to present the best of live audio drama, and the beautiful Negative Space gallery is the perfect setting for these fascinating stories", said ROTLT Managing and Artistic Director Caroline Breder-Watts. "Creating art while being surrounded by art is a dream come true, and we can't wait to share these works with the Cleveland community".


First up is an evening of two classic sci-fi stories - H.G. Welles' The Time Machine and The Hitchhiker, a radio play adapted into one of the most popular episodes of The Twilight Zone. The performance takes place on Thursday, June 12 at 7:30 pm and will be followed by a discussion. Tickets for The Time Machine and The Hitchhiker $15, and are on sale now by visiting here.
