FINAL TWO PERFORMANCES!

STATEMENTS AFTER AN ARREST UNDER THE IMMORALITY ACT

by Athol Fugard, directed by Terrence Spivey

THIS FRIDAY AND SATURDAY AT CONVERGENCE-CONTINUUM

Here’s what reviewers are saying about Statements After an Arrest Under the Immorality Act by legendary South African playwright Athol Fugard now for one more weekend at convergence-continuum, directed by Terrence Spivey and featuring actors Jill Kenderes, Corin Self and Soren Russell.

“emotions are raw, palpable and the stuff that keeps the audience engaged "  “lays bare the characters’ souls”  –Bob Abelman, Cleveland Jewish News

“You’d be hard-pressed to find a more hard-hitting drama.”  “a perfect fit for the folks at Convergence-Continuum.” –Roman Macharoni, Scene

Set in apartheid South Africa, where relationships across the color bar were a criminal offence, two lovers - a black man and white woman - meet secretly in the library where she works to make love and share their hopes and fears. A neighbor reports them to the police who then secretly photograph them, break in, and arrest the couple under the heartless Immorality Act then in effect.

[Note: this play contains nudity]

Statements has its final two performances at 8 pm THIS FRI AND SAT  at the Liminis Theater, 2438 Scranton Rd, Cleveland 44113 in the historic Tremont neighborhood. Tickets available at convergence-continuum.org and 216-687-0074: $20 general admission, $15 seniors (65+) and $10 students.
