Cleveland Play House
(CPH) is seeking a male young performer of color, ages 9-13, for the role of ‘Schwartz’ in its production of
A Christmas Story, directed by John McCluggage. All positions are paid. Auditions are by appointment only.
Auditions will take place
Wednesday, September 27th in CPH’s rehearsal spaces, located on the fifth floor of the Middough Building, at 1901 E. 13th Street in Downtown Cleveland. Performers will audition with sides from the script, which will be sent when
an appointment is set. Please note that children who will be 14 or older on or before 12/24/17 are ineligible to audition
Rehearsals begin on Wednesday, November 1st, and will be held after school and on weekends, Tuesday-Sunday. The
week of November 20th rehearsals will be during school hours. There will be no rehearsal on Thanksgiving Day. Performances are 8 shows a week from Nov. 24th - Dec. 23rd. Children will miss part or all of ten (10) school days
for rehearsal and performances.
Character: Schwartz – (9-13, person of color) One of Ralphie’s buddies. He likes trouble. He’s a little more on the ball than Flick and gets him to do things he probably shouldn’t. Also plays a Desperado.
