Spark Theatre Company & Lorain County Community College announces non-equity auditions for its upcoming production of The Imaginators, to be rehearsed safely and filmed once for schools to use as a virtual field trip. Spark is seeking 1 performer for this production. 


The Imaginators, by Dwayne Hartford is the story of three children and the power of imagination. Anne and Tim have just moved to a new town and struggle to make new friends. Through a new neighbor, the children discover their own strengths, the value of cooperation, and the unlimited power of their imaginations as they figure out how to defeat an imaginary monster! The play reminds children and adults alike never to lose their sense of play and creativity.


AVAILABLE ROLE:

ACTOR- Open to all ethnicities and types. Seeking 1 actor to play the role of Nina’s older teenage brother (or sister) who spends much of their time looking for Nina. Nina hides from her sibling, telling her new friends they are actually a monster in disguise. In the end, this character is a pretty normal older sibling. Please note, adult actors are cast for this production. Actors submitting do not ACTUALLY have to be teenagers.

Actors are asked to self-tape a short, comedic or storytelling monologue or may email SparkTheatre4Youth@gmail.com for a side to read instead. Cell phone video is fine for this. Digital zoom callbacks will be scheduled individually if needed. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: Wednesday, September 23, 2020


REHEARSALS: Digital Rehearsals around actor availability September 27th-October 10th. Distanced, masked, in-personal rehearsals starting October 11th.


PERFORMANCE: Performance will be filmed the week of October 18th, 2020


COMPENSATION: Performers who are students at LCCC will receive college credit for participating in this project. Actors who are not students at LCCC will receive a stipend of $400.00 and additional pay for each digital talkback they attend.
