Prepare 32 bars of a
contemporary musical theatre song (1970’s and on). No need to have
a monologue – cold readings will be provided. You will also be
asked to dance if you are interested in the ensemble.

the first week of February.

- The
Leading Player master OR mistress of
ceremonies – GREAT dancer.
Gender: Any Age: as long as you can still dance. Vocal Range:Db3
– Ab4
- Pippin Our
story’s young and confused protagonist. He is longing to find
his purpose in life. Naive, innocent, and discontent.
Gender: Male Age: 18 to 29 Vocal range: G2 – Ab4
- King
Charlemagne Pippin’s demanding father.
As the King of the Holy Roman Empire, Charlemagne is more
comfortable wielding a sword than breaking bread. He wears his
years with great pride.
Gender: Male Age: 50 to 60 Vocal range: G2 – E4
- Lewis Pippin’s
body-building, pretty boy brother. Not the brightest.
Gender: Male Age: 23-33 Vocal Range: doesn’t matter
- Fastrada Pippin’s
conniving stepmother. A seductress, who is no stranger to deceit
and betrayal, she is both sexy and smart.
Gender: Female Age: 35 to 50 Vocal range: A3 – F5
- Berthe Pippin’s
saucy grandmother. A brassy broad full of wisdom, grace, and
sass. She tries to help Pippin and encourages him to live his
life to the fullest.
Gender: Female Age: late 50s – 70’s Vocal range: E3 – C5
- Catherine A
young widow and mother. She is a beautiful and a hopeless
romantic, who possesses graceful elegance. Falls in love with
Pippin.
Gender: Female Age: 20 to 30 Vocal range: F#3 – Db5
- Theo Catherine’s
son. Age: 7-10
- Ensemble:
Charlemagne’s’ Army, Monks, Nobility, Peasants, The Players –
dance and/or circus ability is a plus for this production.
Unless specified otherwise, all CVLT auditions are open to all
and no roles are pre-cast.
No appointments are required.
Come prepared to read from the script.
Headshots and acting resumes are welcome, but not required.
CVLT does not offer union contracts and performers are volunteers.
